View Full Version : displacement and spd
new to the game like almost everybody here. So how to convert materials that have displacement or spd? What would be the best way to get this effect in Vray material?
Thanks!

Just add a displacement tag to your object, you will find all the controls needed right there. The materials are just used for the surface shader, volume is controlled through the displacement tag locally, but you can also use the global parameters found in the displacement tab of the render settings.
aha, thats great!, I'll give it a try!
thanks!!

And if you want to use those great Zbrush models and maps, remember to use the shift parameter in the VrayDisplacement tag.
For example if you set the displacement amount to 1, set the shift to -0.5, because Zbrush use a grey for the level 0 of the map.

I was reading some general vray info and DSP is mentioned as 2d & 3d.
how is this solved in c4d as there is no option (2d,3d) to choose from?
