not very important but nice to have:
- different color tags for compositing, displacement and motion blur
- workin "background" to avoid using a plane or smth. to get a white background
- a qick button to disable aa compeltely like "aa on/off"

For the AA, just set it to "fixed" at the default 1 value. This effectively turns AA off.
And I agree with the other requests :)

hi afternooncoffeeboy,
for background problem go to render setings, envirnment and play with background color and texture.
For the color tag problem i suggest to use layer for the moment.

hi afternooncoffeeboy,

I wonder if he was also suggesting the Background object, or a way to set a bitmap with frontal projection as a background.
As of now, Sky object and background objects are not supported, and the environment tab has an impact on GI, and doesn't provide a frontal projection type.

Are we talking about the same thing? :)
In the environment tab, there's a background color section.
This one has impact on the GIs, as far as I can see, since it generates a sky dome.
So it displays a map or shader based on the set projection mode, and these influence the GIs as well (unless I missed something obvious and need to go back to my cave  ).

ok, so aa "1" is off? ..i mean..it sounds like with "1" u still have a very low aa? or does "1" set the aa real off?

It's just a term. 1 means "off" for Vray, meaning that only 1 sample is used for smoothing, which effectively means no smoothing.
AA works by oversampling pixels and interpolating them (more or less).
I'm not a guru when it comes to AA phylosophy, but that's the principle if I remember well.

thanks fluffy mate.
want to add another wish :o -> in the "indirect illumination" page the main settings like "general" "iradiance map" and "light cash" are hardly to distinguish from the sub settings. this is really not very important but eg. a different background color would be nice to see clearly the main and sub settings

I'm not sure it would be possible (don't know if the API allows that) but that would sure be nice.

In the environment panel there is the BackGround color/texture :)
About the colored icons, just wait the 1.02

Just a little workaround for the background:
in the environment tab of the VrayBridge set the background to white (or another color of your choice), then to avoid the gi affected by the background set the Gi env override to white but with a multiplier of 0.001.
This should work.
Cheers
