Hi, somehow HQ Plants Proxy is not working with 1.2.6./Cinema 11.5 for me. If I try to link the vrmesh in an existing scene it crashes. If I try to link the vrmesh in an empty scene it works. If I copy the linked tree in the existing scene it doesn´t crash. If I close the scene and try to open it again it crashes immediately. When it crashes it says problems with "libs64/vray_stuff.dll". Is it a bug or a problem with my system? Christoph

don`t copy vrmesh proxy (duplicate it) inside one file or to another file, just make c4d instance from it and use it.

Thanks Tong. But why does it crash when I link it directly in the existing scene? And, by the way, if I open the scene with the copied vrmesh in 11.5/vray 1.2.5.5 it doesn´t crah.

Does anybody else have an idea or made similar experience with 1.2.6?

I had the same problem. Your file still refers to your old vray proxy files, that's why it crashes. Just rename the folder that contains your old vray proxies, and then the new vray won't be able to point to them and it won't crash.

use NEW vray proxies best! faster more efficient.
1.2.6 has the new proxy2 which works tottaly different. old files needs to be reorganized.

take original c4d object(or xref of it) and scatter with any tool activating "3drenderinstances"

is best

Hi to all,
here we have the same issue reported by the other users: HQ Plants Proxy is not working with 1.2.6./Cinema 11.5 on some machine (Windows 7).

( If I try to link the vrmesh in an existing scene it crashes. If I try to link the vrmesh in an empty scene it works. If I copy the linked tree in the existing scene it doesn´t crash. If I close the scene and try to open it again it crashes immediately. When it crashes it says problems with "libs64/vray_stuff.dll"), and I add another strange thing: if we try to load the HQPlants using a 32 bit version all work perfectly.
It seems related only to the 64 bit installation...

I understand that is much better to work with the new Proxy2, but here the problem is different, on some PC's we are not able to load (we usually load them with Content Browser) the HQplants in a existing scene...on newer scenes all it's OK, but we seems to have problems when we manage a scene with a lot of objects, ...

We have checked also to have all the windows update installed.
Anyone can suggest us where could be the problem?

Thanks a lot.

Luca

GIOLETS1965 strange behavior :umnik2:

If I try to link the vrmesh in an existing scene it crashes.
manually?

If I close the scene and try to open it again it crashes immediately. When it crashes it says problems with "libs64/vray_stuff.dll"),
always?

send me scene that crashes to gantonr@gmail.com

Hi, Tong, thanks for your reply. I've sent you by mail the scene.
I can confirm that:
- the problem occurs only on certain machine, but all the PC's are Win7, with the same 11.5/1.2.6 version installed), and in this case we have the problem on the most recent machine with a "clean" Win7 and Cinema installation (starting from a new HD formatted),
- the crash occurs both trying to load an HQPlants through Content Browser both trying to load the vrmesh manually,
- if, on the same machine, we try to load the Plants from an empty scene or using Cinema 32 bit version, all works well.

I think that surely the problem is related on the specific hardware/software configuration of the machine, but really we don't know where to put the hands in order to resolve...

Thanks again.

Luca

I give some feedback with our last test...

1) we know it's not related on your HQ Plants. We have the same issue loading manually other vrmesh file.
2) we have not the problem using Vray 1.25 or 1.26 with Cinema 32 bit version.
3) we have tried to re-install completely Cinema and Vray.
4) we have tried to re-install Microsoft Net Framework 4 and C++ 2010. Winodws 7 is also fully updated.

Have you some suggestion to give us?

Thanks again.

Luca

as written inthe read me pdf we recommend using the new proxy2. it is not intended to use the old meshes atm. ( but on user wish we add support again in next versions)

best greetings

Yes Stefan, we know about the advantages of the New Proxy2, but our question is why old proxies (like HQ Plants and others) works perfectly on 4 machine and crashes only on 5th.
In addition the strange thing is that on empty scenes also on that machine the Proxy works, we have problems in some scenes with many object or poly.
So could you suggest us the reason why it happened or what we have to check (software/hardware)?

the old vrmesh is atm only intended to open old files and convert to new.
it will crash if you use it, not all time but often. this has nothing to do with your machine, its because its not adapted to new system and core.

as said we will implement it on user wish again on new system in next update.
