you just raise the color or the texture mutliplier, like in c4d.
you can put in any value, more than 100% it is high dynamic range.

Thanks quick reply.
I mean a 100% white material but i just wanna the material (or object)generate GI strength 30% or receive GI 30%, can i do that?

well vray as it calculates that just in realyworld manner.
it depends if you use physical camera or not and which iso etc...
as a rule:
set the lumiance until it looks good for you, that can be 30%,100%, or 300%, or 10000%
depending on your needs. it emmits more light the higher the value is.
also a hdri you can put in, the set the mutlipier. strat with something like 5 or with something like 20x when using physcam.

The C4D compositing tags work with vray, or there is another type of tag that does the same thing? FinalRender2 has its own tag, but you still have the functions like a comp. tag.

Hi Ernest,
you can use the VrayCompositing tag.

Cinema 4D Compositing tag and VrayCompositing tag both can turn on or off the GI, but cannot adjust the GI strength, can you make the material edit--->illumination active (maybe next version? just suggest:)).

I thought that was what the Illumination tab was for in the Vray-mat but trying to disable or change the "Generate GI" parameter doesn't affect the render.
Why is it there if it doesn't make any difference? Am I doing something wrong or is it broken?
Cheers,
Stéphane

Hi Stephane,
the illumination tab in VrayMaterial is here exclusively to permit the tuning of the texture visualization.
We'll try to remove them if possible.

Hello,
scuse my english, I'm French
I've the same problem that VICCHEN and I didn't find the answer in the forum.... For Example : i made a room with the walls in blue and the floor in white. In the render, all is blue (a little bit blue !) Is it possible to decrease the GI illumination of a material, or not ?
Thanks for answers.

Set the white balance toward the blue color, this will modify any blue tint and make it whiter.

i am trying to get this same answer.
i am trying to increase the GI coming off one object, and cannot figure out how to accomplish this.

This is not supported on a material basis at the moment (Vray core does not support this, I think).

Thanks for the french language, Fluffy, I'll try this as soon as possible.
Merci pour le Français, Fluffy  Je vais aller essayer ça dés que possible.

I try to set the white balance but limit change, and i found the 3DS MAX+Vray can control the GI strengh no problem, i think it's very important function for the detail.
wish list.:)

I would also like to have this feature. Especially I find my floors getting white washed and loosing any material I put in them and the only way to solve this is to adjust the illumination strength.
Thanks,
stefan
