thanks medwed! looks great
sad that it isn`t tileable..
guess we have to blame the the guy over at mxm-gallery
one question to your settings

why did you use the colored texture in the not-activated specular-channel?
why that strong bump?

Hi

Hm, i see my material been "borrowed" :( and without proper credits given to me for my part of the job which is the main part. Infact no credits at all were given. As i put alot of work and time into creating good looking materials the very least you could do is give me credits for my work, ripping them off like this is not very appreciated. Maybe i stop sharing what i create since this happens. :(

I never intended to create this as a tileable material, it's supposed to be used on smaller surfaces where tiling is not necessary.

Btw, you should probably try to recreate it better. It doesn't look quite correct.. infact the Vray version looks real bad, and i know Vray can do better than this. Can you ?

This is what my original creation looks like for Maxwell.

Tong: Yes, unfortunately mine does look better even tho this is a pretty simple material compared to others i created. But i know what Vray is capable of, and if he knows what he's doing then he could have created a much better Vray version, then i would been happier about this..

The ipod.. nahh i doubt i'll win that contest, there are far better and more creative materials posted there than mine, but we'll see as i so far contributed with 29 materials for the contest heh..

Although i wouldn't say no to it if i now would win :) i mean it's a real nice thingy, and a expensive one too. Thanks again Tong. :)

I'm sorry my first posts had to have this negative tone to them but i felt it was necessary to get my point of view on this out.

hi max,
sure medwed should have given you credit. and of course your pebbles look more convincing,...
maxwell displacement ist a bit more sophisticated
would be cool to know that you`r also working with vray4c4d (the upcoming material repository would benefit for sure :) ), but i guess not.
cheerz and happy holidays. m

Hi Mach

Actually i think both Vray and Maxwell's displacement are very similar in performance and how they work, but i can't say for sure since i never really worked with Vray. But from what i've seen in examples done with Vray using displacement it's very powerful and can create some clean and nice results.

If i'd own Vray for C4D i'd be glad to contribute with materials to the Repository here, but i don't own it (can't afford it to be honest) until that day comes you guys have to see my creations at Maxwell's MXM Gallery and Fryrenders Repository where i share my work now.

Anyhow, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all. :)
