I just finished shooting backgrounds for a job. I'd love to try to match the location lighting in my CGI renders. I was hoping to find IES files for the lights used at the location. We used Dedo's, Arri's (mostly 650's) and a Kino Flo all balanced for 3200K.
Is there a source for these files? All I can ssem to find is GE practicals.
Thanks,
W

hi,
all luminaire companies offer the download of the ies-files of their products. eg. www.erco.com, www.trilux.de, www.wila.com, www.zumtobel.com.
just look in the download section.

These are all great resources, but mainly for 'practical' lights. I was hoping to find files for the lights used in film and tv production.
These are things like kinoflo's which are banks of balanced flourescents, 1k and 2k HMI's and lower wattage incandescents like 650's.
I can see how these wouldn't really need to be created with IES files since there's no implicit demand for accuracy (at least when compared to architecture or interior design.) But I still thought it would be interesting to see how the 'real' things work.
So if anyone knows of a source, please share!
Thanks,
W
