Hey Guys, i've just got Vista Ultimate x64 today and i have both Cinema 4D 32 / 64 installed , when i try to run cinema 4d (32) it gives me these errors:

Does anyone think this might be a .dll problem or maybe microsoft runtime enviroment update ?

Thanks

I had the same problem with my pc...
I solved by putting the msvcr71.dll (http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?msvcr71) in the System folder ( In my case "system32" ).
And for another file "vray_stuff.dll" trying different versions of vray...and updating Cinema4D at 10.111 version,( but you have C4D 10.5, and but have not yet try it)
I hope to be help you.

Byezzzzz

high on some of the new intels the windows installer forget s to install some important dlls;-)

you can find all of them in internet for free though, juts place them in the c4d folder. this is no vray related problem, but a known thing for mayn games and apps today.

mostly it is mvcd71.dll and mvcr71.dll

google finds them fast:-)

I have got the same problem, putting the missing dlls in the C4D root folder really helps, thanks for the advice :)

By the way: Is it a problem of the Cinema 4D installer or of Windows Vista?

this is a problem of the windows installers.

it is not directly c4d or vray related, happens also to other software, specially 3d games.

ah thats easy, you miss this dll. thats an install error of windows, specially on the newer intels.

just google the missing dll ( they are very easy to find with google!) and place it in the cinema4d or system folder,
it might ask you for 1-2 dlls if you install miss that.

that has nothing to do with vray directly.

cheers
stefan

p.s better use c4d 11 on vista, thats the first fully compatibel c4d version for vista.

I received my C4D11 yesterday and again tried to install VRAY1.1 - still no luck. I have installed all of the recommended .dll's still nothing. The problem is worse now as Cinema doesn't even acknowledge the existence of VRAY. Also, I have looked everywhere for mvcd71.dll - I was told a simple google search would find it - didn't happen. Perhaps this missing .dll is the solution, however when I asked Stefan about it 2 days ago, I was not given an answer. I am extremely frustrated at this point and very behind in my work. Would someone please advise me further as I am out of ideas.

until you dont repair your windows vray and also other software like certain games etc will not work. vray needs this windows parts, other wise you get an error.

this IS NO VRAY problem, it is a known windows problem that happens specially on some new intel machines. you need the missing dlls of windows.

You find in very FIRST google finding the missing dlls. maybe you have a typo in the dll name, make sure you search for the exact name, it is immediatly found by google, as i said.
these 2 i guess will be missing (i googled for you):

http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?msvcr71
http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?msvcp71

place them in the c4d folder( or in windows system)
that helps your problem

after you solved your windows problem please make sure you use the new v11 vray 1.1 key marion send you.
you see if the key is correct in the c4d console.

cheers
Stefan

p.s vray runs on all supported systems and plattforms if you have installed all right and use the correct key.
