i've been testing out the various methods for anti-aliasing an image and i found a difference between VRAY for c4d and Max VRAY which i can't explain.
in the manual for Max VRAY the Adaptive DMC sampler is adjusted using a colour threshold, this is either set by its own colour threshold value or there is a check box to tell the aa sampler to use the colour threshold set in the main DMC sampler.
in cinema VRAY there is no way of specifying a colour threshold for the adaptive DMC sampler and adjusting the colour threshold in the main DMC sampler does not affect the output.
is the colour threshold something that has just been left out of the VRAY for c4d by mistake? an adaptive sampler should have a way of adjusting the amount of samples taken using a certain threshold value (based on colour in this case).
cheers, simon w.
p.s. the adaptive sub-division sampler does have a colour threshold just like its MAX version so that aa sampler is fine.
