I dug out a ship I designed and created for a fan film - Star Wars Revelations, created a quick hangar, and tried out VRay, and a few of it's tricks! ;)

Very nice atmosphere!
The ship kind of lacks in details, though. Too bad for such a close-up view :)

Nothing too exciting or revealing - just upped the settings in the IR pass, upped the AA, and also activated 'SubPixel Mapping' in the Colour Mapping tab.
I used a Physical Sun and Sky, with a light intensity of 0.1, and a Physical camera (so I could get the DOF) with settings shown in the grab.
Bear in mind - I have no real idea what I am doing yet either - just winging it as I go along! ;)

Thanks, Adam. This will be very helpful.
