sure, but I'm probably asking too much, but the strait C4D camera isn't taking into consideration camera settings, color mapping. and changing the default object preview with a vray tag won't do it either. it'd be a powerful workflow enhancements to have a dynamic preview.

i am not sure i fully understand,
but the preview is a calibrated enviroment. so with any camera setting it should work actually.
normally you dont want to make a material just for the one light/camera solution, but make a correct material and then adjust camera and light to make it look good.
the materials should not be changed, otherwise you have to redo them all the time you change the camera. better workflow to do it the other way around i think:-)

hi,
maybe he meant the problem you have got with illuminated materials.
at least i have had this problem with a background sky material, which appears only white in the material preview, as the sky has to be quite bright to fit into the scene.
you get this especially when working with the phys sky and a physical camera. (with a normal camera the sky is multiplied by 0.05, but when using a phys. camera you turn it back to 1 and therefore all corresponding materials have to be that bright, too)
