Hello,

First i want to ask some questions.. please i really need answers because i want to understand :oops:

Q: Theres some differents between vray for max and for c4d.. like:
instead of rQMS sampler its DMC sampler..(also i saw it as QMS
in the video tutorials at http://www.learning4d.it/tools4d_learning4d.html),
Catmull-Rom is SincLanczos at C4D... etc
, Also I'm missing some little features check box.. like: QMC sampler thresh.

-- is that normal and only changing names..? thats the question..1

Q2: Most of my renders have some edges that doesn't look smooth..
i tried anti-aliasing but nothing much.. how could i get a smooth edges render not sharp? is it Subpixel mapping?



Finally.. heres a standard scene.
i tried with many ways and i study the materials and did the same vray settings on this scene on vrayforc4d but i always get a disappointing result

anyone know how to make it look like this: (the floor mat and the lighting)

that doesn't look smooth..

No antialiasing (Fixed rate sampler, 1 subdiv)

there are no differences to the maxversion in this regard, it is the same core, but we use the newest vray version like the newest maxversion 1.5 final.

a lot of papers and videos refer to older maxversion that used QMC. since very last version max and c4d use the newer and faster DMC mode with the better schlick engine built it:-)

AA works the same as in vraymax too, so please ckeck your setting.
i will also look in your file.

p.s. in the file you uploaded you have vray deactivated? so i cant see the setting you made....

when i just turm gi on put in one light it looks good already.
i use irradiance map -3/-1 + brute force

rest all sandard setting

colormapping of expnential 3.5/1.8 /0.8

please note that the settings in evermotion files can sometimes refer to old pre 1.5 vray version, so they might be far off. better use simply your own or the standard settings.

by the way do i use area light on the window or only sun light ?
and when is tools4d.eu site is going to open to sell the v(interior) :D

i would think it like a photograph a bit,

i use the sun outside, but i also use one , not too intesive arelight in the room, placed as a diffuser to give a bit more lightdetail to the room.

if you have any realworld lamps in the room to, just give them a light too.
vray works very nice witht he mixture of photomertic light and sun light as all is calibrated together.

i personally find it a lot of fun playing with the lights, as they behave so real in vray.i can set them just as i would in real:-)
