hi,
rendering the first animation in vray.. at least trying to. ;-)
for reference see the following thread: http://www.forum.vrayforc4d.com/viewtopic.php?t=86
now rendering final images and these show visible buckets that are lighter than the other parts of the image, not nice:

http://www.rendertaxi.de/mxl_images/CAP_070924_vrayani0003.jpg
please note that these subsequent frames even show different lighter buckets..
what could be the problem?
thanks for your help.
regards, alex

Hi RenderTaxi,
i seen that if you disable the GI, make a render, enable gi, start the rendering .. this problem can appear.
make that thing in this way:
after you render without GI, enable it, start a render, stop rendering and restart the rendering.
Seem that vray cached some things and trace some bucket, without the GI.. just for the first buckets.
Let me know

rendertaxi please send me the scene, i am just rendering a HD full size animation with no problems over net.
let me please see the file and settings, you can email it to me. i also sign nda if you need.
we want to investigate this, as animation runs perfect on our systems here.
thanks

here i made a fast test again now:
physky, phycam, glossy reflextion IR+LC GI (low settings)
90 frames, rendertime only 5 minutes over net all gi pass and shading pass together:
http://vrayforc4d.com/test1.mov
nothing special and a bit too low settings. but worked fast and easy.
the bigger HD animtion with 96mb c4d archviz file i can show after oct 2nd ( now under nda of client)

hi i looked into your scene and it renders fine here. i reduced the amount of LC samples though. they where much too high (4500), maybe the clients ran out of memory therefore?

hi stefan,
thanks for your effort. i can“t tell you either, it still appears now and then.
as for reducing the LC samples: i reduce the number and then i have to repeat the calculation of first LC- and then IR-Map? or can i reduce and reuse the old maps?

I have just ran into a visible bucket problem using IR+Brute.
It seemed only to affect a particular material. The material had a color diffuse, a bump map and 2 specular layers.
Specular 1 was a Ward with no reflections, HG:0.5 and Fres:1.5. Specular 2 was a Blinn with reflections only, Amount:90%, RG:0.9 no Fres.
By disabling the 2nd spec layer (blinn) I got no buckets.
