Any ideas why Mr. Braun's scenes are rendering close to pure white on my machine?
Thanks,
W

Is "autolight" active in your render settings?

Do you mean the one in the C4D render options? That one is turned off.
Thanks,
W
You must be use units mm?

OK, I've tried it using mm's. I was in cm's. Now the result is a high contrast image - white highlights and black everywhere else.
For the record:
Mac OS X 10.4.9 C4D R10.111 VRAY Bridge 1.0
Thanks for your help.
W
so the problem not in units, they fine, and must be in cm (it was brute check ;-))

Thanks for the share, MrBraun. I just opened and immediately ran your test scene, settings untouched, and it finished in 3m06s. Yours took 36m26s. Why the difference? My render is a lot darker than yours; did you optimize before uploading, which might explain my faster render? Just curious.

MrBraun - thanks for the great stage :) - Just used it to fire-up VRay a bit (had no time to play around). I'm impressed by the result and cannot wait to dive into the VRay Materials and renderer.

Nice material, thanks!
If you activate subpixel mapping in the color mapping rollout you will get rid of the jagged glossy highlight.

A lot of things have changed in the plugin since this scene was shared (especially with the Vray lights), so that might explain the descrepencies.

there will soon be a public calibrated testscene for vray material repository, free for all:-)
this will be good to adjuts materials for reuse in most scenes.

great man! Can't wait! hhaa
Hi stefan i know your busy, but any-chance of that test scene?
Also quick question i work in mm, but when i bring in other material with test scenes they don't render the same as the image attached, so i have to change the units to cm and then they work, why doesn't this convert?
does this mean when import other scenes in cm from other people i have to scale there model by x10 each time because this means a 10x10x10cm cube model is only 10x10x10mm and not 100x100x100mm3 when converted from cm to mm. :(
Thanks for your time it's always appreciated
:D

Yes, we need something quick... It is rather frustrating to download test scenes to pick them apart just to figure out that it's made with a previous version, or a different scale. A neutral test scene for mat's would be great to ensure common ground and communal material repository growth.
SNOW DAY HERE !!!!!!!!
