i am working on an animation that needs to have a flat background color, and would like to do this within c4d and not in post. possible? i know vray does not use the background object.

any other methods for getting a flat background?

You could use a plane linked to the camera, and a compositing tag.
Set your color in a Vray material, luminance channel (make sure you set the luminance channel transparency to 0%, with no diffuse).

or.... into Vray panel, Enviroment Tab have the background color! U can set here the flat color to your animation! ;)

or just make an backgroundobject, and put a big sphere as child of it.

put an vraymat with the animation in lumiance, adjust the intensity in multiplier. (i used 36 as i use the phycam).

i just did this , works perfect, just use a helper object as child of the background:-)
