Hi
I want to do some quick test renders, but it takes just as long as the final images.
What settings can we use to do test renders?

There is a drop-down menu in the GI tab. Just choose "very low quality".
Then go to the AA tab, and set it to "fixed" with the default value.

thank you very much!
I do these test renders, but man, does these frosted glass take long to render... It's alot slower than other materials.

Go into the Light cache option, and check "uselight cache for glossy rays". This will speed things up a bit.
You can also reduce the number of sample of your glossy reflection/refraction for each material, or reduce the "global subdivision multiplier" (in the DMC sampler tab) to reduce this scene-wise.
Not much you can do, though, it's a taxing effect.
I would love to get a fast interpolation method for glossy effects, though.

i would strongly recommend learning using not the presets!
juts use custom:
then set IR Map to -3/-1
then set LC to 1000 and sample size to 0,05-0.08
thats a good start
then go to AA and use one of the standard settings
for most things htis is good already:-)
then you can strat slightly adjuts one value after the other to learn what they really do....
my2cent:-)
