OSX - Black square instead of a material preview....(solved)

Hi vray all installed but when i created a vray material - it just shows as a black square - I mean it previews in my material manager just as a black square - instead of a a gray sphere on striped background

***Also I have no other plugins installed in the plugin folder

I have the same problem with C4D 9.6 on OSX. Are you able to render scenes at all?

there is a problem on a combination of 9.6PPC, if that is your case please write me an email, we contact you tomorrow with an solution.

if you have another version, please post in detail your configuration, all other work for sure.

To clarify, I have the problem described in the first post on an Intel MacBook Pro. It is not limited to PPC machines.

we know, it is in PPC/UB version 9.6. we have it on highest priority.
daniele will probably get no sleep at all today to hopefully solve it until tomorrow.

I know drew and he has an intel mac ( 8 cores I believe ) he has installed the latest Cinema/vrayC4D versions.

I went thru and have reinstalled - deleteing all the prev files and downloading fresh from the links - but get the same issue. I am running OSX 10.4.10 on a 2X2ghz dual core xeon mac 8gig ram - Cinema version R10.111 - still having this issue ? ?

no not with your setup, i have the same.
are you sure you put the libs in the correct place?

you have to "right" click on the cinema4d.app, then you get a menue where you choose "show pakage contents" then a new window opens.
in this windod go in recource/macos and copy the 4 libaries in the macos folder.

have you dont that?, also the keyfile must be in the c4d folder.

you can also send me screenshots to the info adress. so i can help you dirctly.
your setup works perfectly for many including myself, so i am sure we make it run:-)

I went thru all again + this time it worked + materials show and vray is rendering. Strange as I did the same things again per the pdf - but all good + thank you for the prompt help
