make stiches

I'm trying to make stiches on a surface... I have triyed different methode but none are satisfying...

Has anybody a trick or something that would help me...

uh, I'm not sure what you mean by stiches... maybe post an image of what you're trying to create?

The best way to make stitches is to draw a map for color, bump (even displacement depending on the level of detaisl you need).
