Be really helpful to add Vray support for the Proximal shader, or a new shader that does the same thing.

Where you can shade based on the distance between two objects, or maybe even shade based on the distance between the surfaces of 2 objects.

That shader can then be used as a mask for other effects, say a material thats only luminous in areas that are close to children of another object which maybe even animated, or are particles.

Hi Stefan, I've tried and it doesn't work. I've tested it with a normal C4D material works fine, then converted to Vray, I checked it's setup right, and nothing.

Nothing to do with the proximal shader in Vray does anything.. other than render solid black at all times. Thanks

as said to my knowledge and for may usage the proximal works.
i use it for wireframe effects for example with vray, that certainly works.
i also have done some water waves some time ago.

i did not get a file from helios, so i cant tell what he wanted to do.

cheers
