Team, will this be implemented into Vray for C4D users?
http://www.spot3d.com/vray/help/150R1/tutorials_anim.htm#vraysphere
Now we dont have the AR's comping tag facilities (and i haven't heard any news this will change in the near future either) but something like this our Max cousins have would be nearly as fantastic. It would speed up GI object animation drastically.
what of it boys ?

the job the vrayspherefade does a good alternative solution at doing - shadow catching, or more specifically, the Compositing Background option :)
(remember? this topic has been on the wish list since the beginning. hopefully Vlad will include it one day)

a compositing background isreally not needed in vray I think, or?
;-)

Ps.:this would only clutter the comptag layout I think

Whatever your opinion, that AR option is GREATLY missed in vray by many people. It means live mixing of original photos or footage with rendered material isn't possible like it was. This tool was an essential tool in arch vis. Yup, we know you can do it in post, but thats a different matter.

i did, but with all the different peoples from different nations here it's not always easy to pick up on the meanings of emotions all the time :)

but getting back on topic, any chance of something similar to vrayspherefade plugin? this really would be a Godsend. :)

no sphere is not part of the vray engine, it is some custom max plugin vlado programmed. i could ask some time vlado, but in priority we first do DR and other addons:-)
but seriously wouldnt it be better when using 2 or more passes to use a matte function?

the term 'better' is quite subjective. :)
As you know, the whole reason 3d apps use 'in-program' comping or matting is to make the artist's life easier and faster. (ie, C4D's comping tab, Max's shadow/matt material etc...)
And not only that, but full post processing and comping is not always viable in a job due to time and budget constraints. Yes, in an ideal world proper post processing would be ideal, but the reasons i mentioned is why these various 3d programs allow it to happen in house so to speak. It really is (was) invaluable. I hate having to revert back to the AR for doing this type of thing when i cant do it in VR
;)

with the sphere you also have to external comp it by the way....
with matte you render background with non moving objects, use result as background for the animated objects and render those...
saves lot of time and is easy.
gives one result without comping.
still i prefer to comp it if possible as i have more controll.
cheers
