The mine as a little history from origin.
Before being 3D-Freelance, i was conceptor and Catia user in a performances race parts for 6 years.
One day, with one of my best friend, we had a serious contact, out of the job, with competitions quads drivers and part resellers, in the way to create a new performance quad concept.
We had the idea and opportunity to create our compagny.
My name is Franck BERNIERE, and his was David MARTIN, so we would have called it BERTIN (BERnière + marTIN).
Finally, we haven't do it, but I keeped the pseudo.
03 is because I live in Allier (03), in France.

im only 1,72m high but when is was 13 i was 30cm smaller than my friends so they called me Shorty in german kruzer. And because many users in the web using this name i decided to sitch the t in the name to d. So it sounds rounder :)

strat,
what do u think both programs? what is the best ? (hint: c4d right?)
STRAT

i like them both.
the problems i find with max is that it over-complicates itself. it has a million buttons and options to press, where 1 will do. cinema is what you see is what you get. each produce the same result, but it's how you get there is what counts.
in all honesty, personally, i still much prefer max's modelling tools and capabilities as i find them more intuitive and logical. (that goes for the animating tools as well). as for rendering, there's no competition. be it VR or AR, c4d is a pure joy to use. max gives me a headache. (even though we both end up in the same spot).

I think Max's edge, modeling-wise, comes from the fact that it uses modeling history and true NURBS.
But it's quite bulky to use compared to C4D (and much more unstable).

I am dissapointed a bit...I thought C4D will give ugly Max a nockout !!!

Well, there's always better somewhere else if you look at a specific feature.
Overall C4D kicks Max's nuts when it comes to useability, though, and just plain fun.
I don't even mention Mograph, Hair and the likes, as it is mindboggingly above the competition (as far as I'm concerned).

i agree totally strat.
I bought the student version of max 3 years ago, learned it through loads of tutorials, and in the end someone told me about C4D.
I can tell, that to do things in C4D makes it SO easy where in max there are 100's of little buttens to push to get somewhere!
Basically, the usability is WAY better in C4D i think.
