hi there,

i had an idea this weekend. dunno if c4d sdk allows this but it would be cool if we could add or delete custom material channels. eg u can add one or more diffuse channels if u want to do more complex shader. also u can delete the channels u dont need for a material and have a clean overview about the used channels in a shader.

kind like the new render settings in r11. u just see the things u need and can add whatever u want from the pool.

hope u get it :o

cheers

1.1

VRayBlendMaterial can be used to layer several Vray materials in an efficient manner. It can be used to create complex materials like car paints, human skin (when used with SSS as a base material) etc.

VRayBlendMtl takes a base material and applies other materials (coatings) on top of it. This works like a stack, where each coat material blends between its own shading and that of the materials below it in the stack.

yea, i know you want Shader System like blocks system, that you can choose what and how many you want to use.

sorry but it depends from maxon mostly.

yes afternooncowboy, this idea is good, we also had this:-)

it is in works actually already, but due to limitations of the sdk on maxon will take some time to come( dont expect too near future, maybe this needs c4d11.5 or 12).it might also only come for newer maxon versions.

cheers
