How do i basically light my external scene without any lights in it?

in the AR i'd simply place a sky object in with a high luminance value. no lights involved. How do i do this in vray?

i'm not interested in setting times and dates like the sun object in the AR, i never used it. i just want plain old image based lighting. no lights.

this is the bases of how i light my stuff. can i replicate this in VR?

Turn ON GI

and in Environment setting - GI env.override - to white.

Hi Strat,
I've been using texture hdr or not, in the render settings/effects/vraybridge/environement tab works great for a good ambient lighting.

thanks guys

yup, it's the env settings i want :) i'm just not interested in a physical sky. never have been. i've always worked around it with my own control on things.

that link Tong posted is misleading where Stefan states you need a light. you dont.

well i meant you need something that gives you light, sorry.

that can be a hdri, a dome with lumiance or the enviroment with the same.

cheers
