glass, its not for free, if thats what yo ask for.
its an .5 update, so you have to pay for it!
.. but as i see, there are some realy cool updates, like dwg import and xref function..

yes, sounds like an interesting update in terms of workflow especially.

The Xref´s are no real instances I guess and will be converted to polys at rendertime, right?

best,
Walli

Yes, it works fine with Vray and is worth every penny! (be it only for the Xrefs).

so does somebody knows if that imply a new serial for cinema and vray?

Well absolutely don't know, but since the VFC SN is from initial C4D SN number and not from .5 there shouldn't be any problem. :)

No, R10 serials are used here.

Just upgraded into 10. Perhaps I will upgrade 10.5 later.

what value 10.5 update would add to vray ?

Adds quite a few neat stuff : http://www.maxon.net/pages/products/cinema4d/featurelist_10.5_e.html

Why should it be specific to Vray, by the way?

Anyway, Xrefs, the new lighting tool, DWG import, HUD, modeling and UV tools are all useful for your projects, Vray or not.
Lots of neat things for animators as well.

I am not sure, perhaps I should have put the question other way. What value does it add to architectural visualisations? Already the Vray gives more rendering power to these kind of visualisations but is it possible to enchange the options of Vray rendering engine somehow with the new options in r10.5? Anyway perhaps it´s too complex question.

Well, the biggest value cannot be compared with Vray, since no changes were made to Advanced Render, but as I stated above, Xrefs, support for 2D and 3D DWG file format, the little improvement on the modeling tools, the new HUD functions, etc.. are all a big value to architectural projects (especially Xrefs and DWG support).
