Hello,

i did a quick test with the "startupfranzdof.c4d" scene, added an object and did a simple animation of the boolean... didn't had much time, so i left the settings as they were...

if there's a simple solution to avoid the flickering, that would be welcome... :)

Rendering GIs animation needs to be done a certain way (and a different way depending on if it's camera or object animation).
Did you use the prepass/render modes? Which primary/secondary GI engines did you use?

:) No idea will take a look...

90% of the time i animate camera and object, so if you can point me out which is the best approach, that would be nice!
Maybe a good max tutorial?

this would be of interest for me too, object animation and combined object and camera animaton

camera animation is done with incremental ir map and LC.
the object animation is done with animation prepass and animation render.

i will try to make a tut video for both.

here is a smal 15min aniimation i made:

vray renders animation very flicker free:-)

a tutorial would be very generous of course.

I guess in worst case one has to choose brute force, as similar to stochastic render of AR this type of noise isn“t as anoying as flickering from other GI methods, right?

no that would be crazy,

i try to put that up. it realy is not very compliacted.

basicly it is 2 steps only:
render the prepasses (option render prepass only and saved paths)
then set both gi methods to "from file" and render the animation.

the small animation above took me 15 minutes setup and rendertime all together. actually saving it for web took longest;-)

Yes Stefan, a tutorial would be awesome!
And Shane, I tried your way and got pretty good results, but I'm a bit lost on some settings...

I think many people explain their methods/settings differently, but I feel that nothing speaks better than screen shots ;)

Thanks for the info!

I did a new test following Shane's advise...
didn't know what to do with the secondary bounces...

Still some flicker... but less

Stefan that would be nice! I don't like to RTFM... ;)

you also save the secondary bounce or use brute force.

i hope i get my micro today or tomorroew latest. then i try to show most animation thingys:-)

In V[trainings]vol.2 (http://212.25.188.197/index.php) we will also speak of animation.

Surely within weekend I will prepare a bonus track (walk through animation).

a camera movement around the stage 03 V[stages]vol1

Best

Cristian.
