Hi mascab
if you open your content browser navigate to the tools4d mtl scene. Inside this you should have two things. The first is an folder named tex, and the second should be a Vshader_mtl_scene.c4d named file with a tools4d typical preview icon. Double click on this and it should open.
The Shaders are great, but in Scenes the Glass and Chromes slow down the Render.

the problem is that inside the tools 4d scene I have nothing!!
I have put the file named tools4d mtl scene.lib4d, that I found in the archive, inside MAXON\CINEMA 4D R10\library\browser... is it right?
But I'm the only one with this problem?

The cinema4d is 10 or 9.6?
Our projects are made with the latest version.

I use R10.111
Peace,
Rich_Art.
Just as a test, I put it in the 10.5 demo browser folder and it worked.
Any chance of a 10.1 version?

LoL. I just did that myself and indeed, in R10.5 the folder contains the shaders.
Perhaps there is an conflict with an Other MTL file.
Peace,

If you rename the Lib file to "vray-shaders.lib4d"for example it will show the content. :)

I work on pc with 10.111
And we tested the .lib in os win and OSX.....
I don't know if youe have any "scene conflict" in your browser.
Sorry.
Thanks, Rich_art. That did the trick. :D
And thank you, Cristian, for these great shaders.

Just like to mention it is empty here as well.
Haven't tried the rename trick.
Tried on a MacBookPro.

Renamed it inside the Cinema Browser-without- blanks. Clicked "Refresh" and now they are there.
I think blanks and names ending with numbers have problems inside the Content browser depending on platform/processor, maybe.

renamed and folder always empty.
formatted and reinstalled.
problem solved.
i don't have any idea on what was the problem.
Seems to be a problem with the browser, I've had this before. Normally choosing refresh in the content browser solves the problem.
place the tools4d mtl scene.lib4d into library \ browser folder - then 2 click on the file - windows asks with which program to open - select Cinema4d -
luck
try like this:
http://rapidshare.com/files/59855648/vraymtl.rar
it`s presets library so you can browse it with Content Browser or use Materials (File - Load Materail Preset - VrayMtl
need rename materials they all like 1,2,3 ;-)
Great materials - thanks!
I have found a mystery in this file, however.
If I create a new cube object it will be 200cm x 200cm x 200cm (instead of the default 100cm^3 cube).
When I apply a texture with cubic mapping - with a size of 100cm^3, the texture mapping is the same size s the cube (try it with a regular C4D material to see the yellow grid).
I also noticed that the ground plane is mapped with a 100cm x 100cm texture grid, although the texture is a 2x10cm^2 image - and if it were truly to scale, it should be mapped on a 20cm x 20cm texture grid.
How do you, accurately, scale a texture....
btw, will the yellow texture grid be added to a future Vray update?

For one day, I checked all content browser libraries. I found some lib4d is not showing properly.
The fact is that content browser does not handle many lib4d files. If there are too many lib4d files in the library/browser, some lib4d is not showing randomly. It seems a bug in R10.
Approximately 16 lib4d files are ok.
Reduce files by copying and making bigger single lib4d files (do not delete system installed lib4d files).
Finally I made all lib4d files shown properly!

The library file worked fine for me in 10.1. Upgraded to 10.5 and it no longer works.
Deleted the file and copied and pasted it into the browser. Still did not work. Tried everything mentioned in this post and more. The file still does not work.
I see the tools4d mtl scene folder and inside it is the tools4d mtl scene.lib4d file. I click on it nothing. I tried loading through the "load material preset" and it is not on the list.
I'm on a PC Windows XP Pro SP2.

It's nothing wrong with the library. I just found a trick - hope it will work for others too.
1. In Content Browser navigate thru folder structure of your HD to the folder - 'Browser'
2. On the right column you'll see all your libraries. Double click on 'tools4d mtl scene.lib4d'
'Refresh' trick also works for me
