Hi All,

I have an "attached" scene. when I render this in the viewport it renders fine, but when I render to the picture viewer C4D just crashes without any warning. is this due to my ram ? 2gig...
Or is there something else wrong..

Peace,
Rich_Art.

Hello Rich_Art,

it's a ram issue.. i'm rendering it with HN set to 2... and was out 1.5 millions poly.. so with 3, the Vray triangle are 6 millions.

But i think that you can render with 1.5 millions triangle without problems.

The 64bit is coming :)

sorry for now
Renato

Thanks guys.. so I need more ram.. 2gig is not enough.
Well it is time to buy 2gig more..... Or is 4gig for winxp 32bit a waist of money.... can I use 4GiG with Windows XP 32bits.

Peace,
Rich_Art.

PS: HN on 2 works indeed. Now it will render fine.

WinXP 32 only supports up to 3GB RAM.
WinXP 64 supports up to 32Gb RAM.

also for all that use big scenes on windows.
there is the 3gb switch option on windows32.

i recommend using it, but please make sure you know what you do!
if done wrong your pc wont start up again.

we, and most professional use this these days as many apps are not happy with windows ram limitations.

the 64 bit is in works and will be published as soon as it passes all tests.

cheers

Thanks Stefan.
I hope C4D and vista will be a better combo after the SP1 release.
If so I will buy Vista.. If not I will buy XP 64 bit.

Peace,
Rich_Art.

PS: did you received my 2 E-mails?
