hi mates, i watched a little vray tutorial for max where a dome lightning is used with an hdri map. as u can see below, the light and shadow is comin nicely from the hdri specific angle and everything is lightened up very nice (pls dont comment the noise, thats not my problem :o).

so i recreated a similar scene in c4d and took a hdri map where light is comin from a specific 'hard' angle to get a similar effect as in tutorial. but my scene is filled up with light kinda 'flat'...i cant really see where the light is comin from, so no specular or smth. also it seems like i cant set the intensity of the domelight.

a) how to get the more 'glamour' look like in the pic take from the tutorial below with onyl 1 dome light
b) how to get a more hard/natural shadow like @ pic ...ive very soft shadows in my scene :(

cheeeerz and thanks mutch for help

But me too I have a lot of problem with hdri and dome lights... I can't understand why I can't modify the intensity of the light (hdri) and my shadows using any type o hdri sucks. Did I miss somethig ?

yep its a gnomon tutorial (http://gnomonology.com/tutorial/62). and ye,i use domelight with hdri but cant reproduce this scene...read my first post to get my problem, the lightnin seems very flat and the shadows are soft. in the tutorial you can see the light is comin from a nice angle and shadow is nice sharp and more realistic then my soften shadow :(

I did a very simple test with it and it looks fine by me.
Although not much shadow indeed.

thanks, i just wanted confirmation that the intensity-settings of the light-tag (aeralight - lightdome - hdri) doesn`t have any influence..
