View Full Version : Vista Ultimate 64 cannot find vray_stuff.dll

I installed Vista Ultimate and C4D and Vray. I got the missing DLL messages and installed the latest .NET framework for which the VRay installer should have been responsible. All is good after that, vray render are fine in 32Bit but... if I start C4D V11 64Bit it cannot find the vray_stuff library. It's in the C4D 11 directory (where it should not belong) and I moved it a bit around in the system for no avail.
So... what do I have to do on Vist64 to get the 64Bit VRay running!?
Cheers
Rainer
PS The C4D11 directories will cause massive problems soon on anything which is not contained in the plugin directories as the auto updater might remove anything not belonging to the core installation on will. But that's another issue which has not really come up yet. The license file should be in the plugin ddirectory.
PPS:Why are there .obj files in the vray plugin directory?!

Alright, I deleted the directories as I converted a couple of .obj's by accident with that utility. To make sure nothing else was touched I re-installed vray. The result is now that the 32bit version cannot find that dll but the 64bit version runs fine.... sighhhhhh
lil'help here!

did you know that you must have separates cinema4d for 32 and 64 bit vray?
thees dll files identical by name, but really different in use.

No, I expected it to work like the other plugins which figure out what's started.
C4D installs automatically the 32 and 64 bit version. How am I supposed to separate those two?
I have not found a document regarding this. Is there one? Did I miss something?
And if I separate C4D will the contents browser still find all libs or will I have to maintain two separate installations for C4D?
Cheers

Great... I ran into the very same problem. So I have to choose either 32 or 64 bit Vray...
I cannot understand why this isn't mentioned in the install docus or anywhere. :x
install they in separate Cinema4d in separate folders

I just made the leap to 64 bit today too and found this issue.
What's the reason you can't have both? Seems odd..
Also, how would you separate into two folders?
Make a duplicate R11 folder and then install 32bit in one 64 in the other, is that what you mean?
