Hello all,
I'm having trouble installing Vray. I get an error message saying "unable to open file
c:program files/maxon/cinema 4d r10\resource\strings_us\descriptionvpvraybridge.st r."
Has anyone else had a similar problem. I'm using xp pro sp 2.
Thanks
Donal

I'm still no closer to a solution to this, have you found a fix chachi?

i had a problem with upgrades 1.02 and 1.03 but 1.04 seems fine and I have yet to install 1.05 so I acnt tell you about that one until tomorrow night.
I had a problem with a msvcr71.dll or something like that.....did a bit of homework on that one and it turns out any msvcr71.dll file you find in your pc can just be copied over to your cinema4d root folder and you are fine. Its just a file to do common file math.
But those early upgrades never worked. ....but oh well, the new one does the trick. Maybe a conflict with something I already have installed.

I just tried copying that dll file in and still nothing. I'm using 1.05, I just manually copied the files it couldn't find and it now says there's an error on line 10 of pvraybridge.res. I've reinstalled cinema too and that hasn't worked. This is not going well at all.

Ok, panic over I know what went wrong. It's pretty stupid of me really. Instead of extracting the files into the plugins folder I just copied them straight from winzip so the file tree got messed up. So to spare anyone going through the same torment, just extract everything and don't be lazy and copy and paste the zip files over.
