Hi all,

I would also know more about Light Portals.
Currently I have the problem to get light into an building in an exterior-scene while using default medium GI-settings and colormapping linear 1/1/1.

Which parameter is responsible for ray-depth? I want to get more light into the lower rooms through the windows.
An area-light with light portal "on" doesn't bring the wanted effect!

Thanks,

for hgetting light into the scene you needed no portal actually.

are you sure yoiu have refrative caustics on in gitab?
that you need to get all light through glass.

the portal makes this a bit faster, this is a kind of importantce sampling in vray, so it knows where to exatly look in special.
but also without any portal( i never use one) you get any light exreme deep if you dont forget the refractive caustics to be on in gi.
