View Full Version : Input Gamma value settings?

Currently I don't think it is possible to set the value of the gamma an bitmap image receives when it is brought in to used as part of a material. I know in 3D Max you can set this value and then when other bitmaps are brought in they are automatically given the gamma correction you specified.
Is this something that will be available soon as changing the gamma value manually can be a bit of a headache especially when working on large files with many textures.
Many thanks in advance.
+1
ps: you can make filter in texture slot to be default with gamma correction, that will savу you some movements

Hi Tong, That's what we currently have to do, but opening old files with 50+ textures and having to add filter and change gamma can get a bit tedious.
why? i just select all in material manager and aplly filter

yes this is a wish we have for long time for cienma4d. sadly this maxon has to do, we cant make it.
what we offer for next update is an automatic LWF button, that changes the textures on rendertime to 1/gamma
cheers

Waouw !
A great thing for that, thanks team !
I suppose, anyway, that the viewport gamma correction is unchangeable without Maxon cooperation, no ? (like in 3DS)

thats not enough for LW, it must copy Color value to empty Texture slot (when diffuse have only color), and changes after that filter to 1/gamma

also color and shader values of course tong.
cheers

p.s for a c4d wide input system it needs to be done by maxon yes.
but our system will help much for most situations

Sounds sweet, im sure it will be a big time saver, good for viewport working too. Think I might put off that material library for a bit then as then all my current materials would be gamma corrected twice!
