can't get Vray to run[osx c4d 9.6 not supported yet]

I'm running C4D 9.6 on OS X 10.4.10 on an Intel MacBook Pro. I followed the installation instructions, but there is no sign of Vray when I start Cinema. I've looked under Render Settings > Effects, the Plugins menu, the Tags menu in the Object Manager, and the Material Manager. The key, VrayBridge and VrayLibs all seem to be in the right place, but still no luck. Has anyone else had trouble installing? I hope I'm missing something obvious.

I also tried removing all other plugins, but it made no difference. I'd appreciate any help.

I have exactly the same problem and tried for more than one hour and could not solve it. I have C4D 9.6 on OS X 10.4.10 on a 2x3 GHz Dual core Intel Xeon

I also tried to run it on a PPC (OS X 10.4.10) but was not able to show package contents

The graphics worked for me but perhaps a checklist will help you:

A. VrayLibsOSX
1. Control click the Cinema4D app
2. Select Show Package Contents.
3. Double click the Contents folder.
4. Drag three files from VrayLibsOSX_1.0 and drop onto MacOS folder.

B.VrayBridgeOSX_1.0 folder
1. Open Maxon plugins folder.
2. Drag VrayBridge folder and drop onto the plugins folder.

C. VrayBridge.key
1. Drag zipped VrayBridge.key into the Maxon Cinema 4D folder.
2. Unzip VrayBridge.key.

Your check list is so organized, and I believe also that is the way to do it. Unfortunately I tried it and did not work either! :(

It is a shame, I can not wait to try this plugin :roll:

In may case everithign works perfectly but I use r10... it can be a r9.6 related problem.

Did you see Vray when you load Cinema where all plug-ins names scroll during he opening of the app ?

It seams like it does. But it shows too quickly to be sure that it's there

Thanks for the checklist Leonard. I just tried the whole process again and got the same result, both on my MacBook Pro and the G5 Quad. I also noticed that, for the PPC version of Cinema, there is no option to view the app's package contents.

Maybe this is just as well for now, because there's other work I should be doing. I imagine Renato will have it sorted out soon.

Don't know if this will help, but for me, I was getting black renders, and no rendered material preview. What I did wrong was stick the folder "VrayLibsOSX_1.0" into the Mac OS folder within the package contents, instead of the three files. After reading Leonard's checklist, I had a "duh" moment, took the folder out and just put in the three files, and now I am getting great fast renders. (OS X 4, PPC, G5, C4D 10). Thanks Leonard.

it is important to put the files in the macos folder( in cinema4d.app click on it and choose show package content) as in the install description.

i've got the same problem on mbp 17" and c4d 10.111
installation done as instruction, but vray is invisible... nothing in plugin menu, nor in effects, nor in material editor...
vray does not exist!!
but i'm using the same key that i purchased for windows xp..this is the problem?
