c4d spot light

It does not look like VRay allows me to use Radiant Power (W) with the c4d spotlight, is that right? So have to use Default (image) intensity units...whatever they are?

Also, when I enable the barn-door effect with the VRay tag, it seems to shut the light off...maybe am not doing something right?

It does not look like the c4d spotlight works like the area light in terms of using it with the physical camera....since I'm not using dof anyway, I'm wondering if the VRayPhysCam is something that adds un unneccesary complexity to the workflow.

same here, saw that this is an old thread, but I want to up it again,

whenever I click to activate barn doors, get the same 'black night' atmosphere. :(

well physically spoken this is impossible, a spot light has no size and therfore cannot have photometric values(which need a size of the light)

we of course could try adding a "fake size" and therfore make it possible to add this, lets put this on the wishlist. i cant promise this fake would work but we can try, it would be definitly nice.

don't quite understand, Stefan, since this option is specifically available only on the spotlight. ...

no photometric lights are at the moment ONLY available on AREA lights;-)

in reality a light must have a size, spotlights do not have a size, and also no photometric values therefore.
