hi,
i don't know if someone already asked for this feature, but i would really appreciate if there was an option to turn on/off materials, very similar to the Displacement Material can be turned on/off so as to test each material independent from others. So when the vray material is turned off, it would be rendered white as if there is no material applied.

?
Override material - this option allows the user to override the scene materials when rendering. All objects will be rendered with the chosen material, if one is selected, or with Default surface color materials if no material is specified.
Overriding material- this option allows to choose material that will be use for overriding scene materials. Just drag and drop here vray material from Materials Manager.
Default surface color - color that replace all the scene materials when rendering.

Hi Stefan,
if you want to create some material combinations in a scene, how can you use material override?
I make an example :
let's say I have a building with lots of materials and a glass windows. i want to test both interior and exterior lighting. so i choose material override option. But unless i choose a transparent material, i cannot see the effect of interior lighting since the window glass material will be over riden as well! instead, with what i suggest, you can simply disable everything but glass and facade cladding to see for example the effect of lighting affecting only some materials.
i badly need this function since i dont have rendering farm or an 8 core computer, i am working on a 2x2Ghz laptop and i need to disable some materials everytime i need to make a test. So it's request for speeding up things, for people like me hast to run vray on very slow configurations.
i hope someone can either support me in this or show me a fast way of achiving what i really need with the existing options in vray.

ASAP
I think Mr. VRay4C4D and his Team would agree when I say "It´s done when its done"
Thats their way of ensuring every release they are giving to us is (almost) bug-free and we all are happy with it.
So if you need a announced feature for a commercial production just don´t wait for a release, work with what you have (or ask Mr. VRay4C4D (a.k.a. Stefan) for a beta if there is no way around).
