Hi,

Today I had to solve a puzzle where a scene kept crashing on me...
It was a SAT file that I translated in Okino's polytrans and read into cinema. The normal Cinema render gave no problems when I tested the file so all was well.

Went I satrted to work in Vray however it started crashing consistently while trying to figure something out.
Apparently the client left a shape doubled in the file exactly on top of the other so it was invisible. But when time came to render this killed VRay every time.

So lesson learnt: NO DOUBLE GEOMETRY IN THE SAME SPACE!

well yes double geometry renders bad(noisy), normally it doesnt crash, but defintly should be avoided. maybe the geomtry was also soemhow corrupt.

also in c4d i get noise when i render double faces most of the time, specially if the material has transparency or reflection.
