Hello, this is a first try to make a QTVR!

The GI settings are very low: total project rendering 12 min! ;)

C&C are welcome! :)

I must investigate: seems that every of the six camera have a different expositure!

Yes, is simple to do this (tnx LucioIng for the tips!)

1) Is necessary to create 6 camera... one to the front, one to the right etc! ;
2) Save the six images;
3) Put all into a simple win Program GoCube or a PanotoVr program (for MAC and PC);
4) Generate the Cubic VR! :)

very nice approach to qtvr, because using cinema's qtvr doesn't get you to see 360ºx360º, maybe only 360x270...

wich camera did you use?

I try, and if the camera positions are for a animation (6 frames), and use fliythroug in Light cache, the result is near OK. I hope if use irradiance map incremental the result will be OK OK...

Camera Box.

My problem, in GoCubic program the default window size is 480 x 320... and window viewer size parameters cannot be customized in GoCubic...

Good view at Quick Time 200% size

Gocubic program have the possibility to change the output: u must go to Set Compression menu! ;)

Here, in office, i can't' open Gocubic because on this machine it crash! :(

FOV, Tilt, Pan, and window viewer size parameters cannot be customized in GoCubic. I can see in readme text.

But I discover a tool, Pano2QTVR 1.6, http://gardengnomesoftware.com/ that even in free version you can decide window viewer... and set hotspots, and much more.

a tutorial would be great.

I don't seem to get the nodal point right, because my cubics are not ok.

I use stitcher 5...to no success with my renders.
I'm not new to "real" qtvr though.

Hope to learn how to do it properly through your tutorial.

Thank you sir ;-D

At what size do you output your images?

Nico
10-16-2007, 10:53 AM
Yes you can do a 360° in Cinema4d you juste have to create 6 cameras like Mr Braun told you.

you can see a QTVR made 3 or 4 years ago on my site in the animation link

http://www.cactus-colas.com

This QTVR has 3 points of view when the cross change just click or select the point of view desired on the plan on the left side.

MrBraun
10-16-2007, 11:05 AM
Yes nico: at beginning i have rendered with 6 cameras....

With Vray, this isn't necessary: only one camera, only one render! :)

Pperezu
10-16-2007, 03:22 PM
Box camera don´t work with VrayPhysical camera, but with convencional camera is OK

Here's a Vrayforc4d- QTVR ready-to-go-package:

it contains 2 readmes,
an example qtvr (sorry - wacky example, time to go to bed..)
and a c4d scene with 6 cameras that are each being rendered
out via stage object.

So basically you just need to make sure to have the "all pictures" marked on
in the rendersettings for rendering and get your vray settings right.

get "go cubic" or "make cubic" to stitch together and you're done.

NOTICE that this is a modification to an existing qtvr setup that someone came up with.
I'd like to give some credit here but I don't remember the name.
So thank you whoever you are, I hope it's okay that I adjusted the scene for vray purposes and posting it here.

There are a free version of Pano2QTVR 1.6, and the oficial version of Pano2QTVR 1.6 and Pano2VR 2.0 beta. I bougt Pano2VR 2.0 beta and i think is fantastic.

I'm very curious about this:

How would you go about setting up a panorama that in the end
is not a quadratic size? More like a hd format.
How do you set the output resolutions and the camera so that
no overlappings/ black leaks occur?

Thanks for your input.

mr Braun,

Any chance you still have this tutorial?

The thread does not exist anymore.

cheers mate

stefan

It was basically you save the image in box format and use a VR software to convert into qtvr oder similar panoramas.

For object vr you anomate ghe camera around the object and stich it the same way

I just wanted to say that i made a simple XPresso setup for Quicktime VR in Vray. Maybe this can help someone here ;-)

thnx for the expresso
what do you use for stitching it into quicktimeVR format?

mimo8
03-21-2011, 12:57 PM
I just tested and bought GardenGnome´s Object2VR.
Very nice and straight forward app.

----------

misterkanisters expresso is very cool,
but my little renderfarm gets some of the frames wrong.
It think the camera is not always loaded im the right position when opening the file.
You can fix this by baking the animation:
1. connect the VR_cam with another new camera in expresso (Global Position and Rotation)
2. Use Cappucino to bake the keyframes

Hi every one,

I'm try to use the Box type in cunjunction with CubicConverter, and I don't get a good result.
I don't know yet if the problem is with C4D/Vray or CubicConverter.
If anyone could help me it would be great...

Here my method:

Salut tout le monde...

A camera (no physical cam yet)
Focale 18, aperture 36, field of view 90°
http://www.aerografik.fr/img/box-camsettings.jpg

RenderSetting > VrayCamera > Box type
http://www.aerografik.fr/img/box-vrsettings.jpg

Here's my render:
http://www.aerografik.fr/img/box-boxrender.jpg

In CubicConverter, when I generate the QTRV or the equirectangular picture, every thing is wrong
http://www.aerografik.fr/img/box-cconverter.jpg

Is there something wrong?

Thx a lot for the help...

stefan
03-25-2011, 07:36 PM
you have to use cubic vray, the 3rd option in our software:-)
stefan

Aeron
03-28-2011, 12:59 PM
......
The third option?... Mmmhmm...

After some tests, it seems that the orientation of the Box rendered by Vray is not as excepted by both CubicConverter and Pano2vr.

Vray render is like this:
http://www.aerografik.fr/img/box-boxrender.jpg

and it should be like this for CC and Pano2vr (but the room correctly oriented of course):
http://www.aerografik.fr/img/box-boxrender90.jpg

Ps: So... Finally it works fine, but I have to separate first manually the 6 faces in photoshop et then re-assemble them with CubicConverter or Pano2vr...

for a QT object simple animate the camera around the object as you needed it (1 or more rows) and stitch the resulting frames to a QT object.
thats the usual way.

Huv
02-20-2012, 10:41 AM
thats the usual way.
What do you call the "usual way"... Since now, the usual way for me was to use the VR objet defined by C4D...

And no way to see if "misterkanister" xpresso can work with Vray and R13 (or R12) ?
I do not understand a thing with xpresso...
Thanks :)
