View Full Version : dark tree simbiont
i went through some old projects of mine yesterday in wich i used the simbiont plugin. from what i read it´s not compatible with c4d 11 anymore.
i was wondering if is it possible to make these very nice shaders work in vray?
not sure if i am asking something techcnically impossible, but i guess it would be a really nice add on....

yes it can be. actually simbiotic shaders works with vray for 3dmax....
but i don`t like they, i better use
http://www.biomekk.com/index.php?page=1&cat=107&itm=1
they much more cooler ;-)
....
just checked they website
did they work with cinema4d 10-11 now? it`s very old 2004 plugins: Cinema4D R7 - R8 (Win) V 2.53 ( 08/06/04 )
they work with vray for max maybe also with the rc1 for maya?
one more reason to make them work with c4d aswell...the dark tree offers their very nice shader tree edit options, maybe that would make it possible to exchange shaders between the applications. so a mixed app pipline would profit from that i guess.
i have came across the biomekk shaders but must admit i did not use them until now, will take a look into that.thx

enhance c4d shader are so cool...specially with reference shader from blackstar...killer combo!
.... now cheking them...i just guessed using simbiont would make a nice bridge to exchange mats in between the different host-apps. would make collaboration much easier. without the hassle of converting all settings manually....maybe just saturdays wishful thinking....

a small note about the biomekk enhanced shaders
not every shader is 64bit compatible
(art deco, cellular, cheesy, crackle minky & nurnies)
and if you use any of the organic & water shaders
you will only be able to render at half speed (32 & 64bit, mac least on mac)
keep that in mind, Chris from biomekk is aware of the problem
