Hi all, this is my first post here.

I finally played a bit with vray yesterday, with a little model I made, and It seems I'm not using displacement correctly... here is the problem the first pict took about 3mn to render on my macpro quad2.6, and the second, with displacement, about 6h47!!!

I used the basic settings for Displacement and medium render preset

So as you may guess, I'm looking for some tips in order to optimize, because I won't be able to improve my renders with such rendertimes ...

you should put that you've got problem with the discplacement in the title of the thread if you want it to be visible

how many poly have you got on the plane on wich there is the discplace tag?

combien de poly sur ton plan? deja 3 minutes sans le discplacement je trouve รงร. long pour ton image... :D

it's the standard C4D plane : 400 polys...

did you try with 1x1 (4 point, one poly ) ?
