yes if you use one of the methods that produces geometry.
that means under tab "generate" not in mode "none" but all the others.
the hair material adjusts thickness and shape. the render material add extra as a vray material.

Thanks for the answer stefan!
I'm completely confused with renderable splines question.
Im an architect and I often work on town planning, so that means a lot of line (spline) drawings imported from cad software (usually Autocad). And at these low scale plans often I dont need to worry about details...one line for road, one for pavement is enough.... so I basicly need just the black lines for that. Usually my render is composed out of the main building(s) and the surroundings which are basically black lines.
Drawings I get from Autocad are made of hundred thousands of lines and points....so I guess sweep nurbs isnt the best choice (or is it?).
So now I found out Hair isnt also....
What else am I left with?
I solved the problem with S&T and post work in photoshop. But this is far from being a fast workaround. especially since vray phy. camera can have different distortion applied to it than cinema camera rendered in native render engine. Which means I have to manually make the perspective adjustments - a real time consumer if you do a lot of test renders for clients and they want to see the results right away. And if you do a lot of renders.
I was also searching for plugins - none seams to solve this problem, or are not compatible with cinema 11r.
Texturing is also not the best way bacause the textrues get to big if I want to keep a decent dpi a the end.
How do I do it?
Whats the shortest workaround to get renderable splines?
Thank you!
