View Full Version : Let the screen be put to sleep

I have an iMac where I use the display sleep funktionality rather than a screen saver. But unfortunately Vray when rendering doesn't let the screen go to sleep. Even when I try to force the display to sleep with the CTRL + SHIFT + EJECT key combination. And since there is no display power button on the iMac the screen is constant on during nightly render sessions both increasing the amount of electricity used and putting a strain on the screen as the same image is displayed for a very long time.

Please fix this, in my view, serious bug.

Modo 302 had the same problem which when I first submitted a bug report on the issue the answer was that it was undoable and a limit to Mac OS X. But then they found the commands that made this possible when I persisted that Maxwell Render already had managed this feat. And finally in 401 it was fixed by Luxology. And I can only hope that it will be fixed as soon as possible.

Sincerely,

Johan Israelsson

this is not a bug at all, it is the way the cienma4d picture viewer works.
vray does use the native picture viewer and not influence this.

we cannot controll this. you might want to send this to maxon.

it's indeed not a vray bug
because here my screen the old plastic lcds (not imac) goes to sleep after 5min but the newer metal one doesn't (but has a on/off switch)
it's same while rendering with c4d

put up a nice screensaver so you don't have to watch the same old image again and again

here are some cool clocks :
this a good one because it doesn't take to much attention
