Hi there. Unfortunately I have a problem.
Whenever I do anything Vray4C4D specific, for example creating a new Vray Material or selecting the VrayBridge post effect, I get a message like this:
Unable to open file
/Applications/MAXON/C4D/resource/strings_us/description/msimlematerial.str

the word "msimlematerial.str" differs depending on what I do.
All the "missing" files are present inside the "VrayBridge" plugin folder.
For some reason, the plugin can't find the correct path and then looks inside the app's "strings_us" folder.
Could it be some kind of setup problem of my Mac?
All VrayBridge related items appear where they should (plugins, materials, tags e.t.c.).
Any info?

Thanks

If any MacOSX users (PPC) have managed to render, please say so. It may be my setup problem.

Thanks

How did you manage to install the bridge in a PPC? I could'n since there is no way to "show package contents" to install the libraries.

Probably that's why you have missing materials

What's your version of C4D anyway?

Why isn't there a way to show package contents? If you are in admin mode you shouldn't have a problem to show the package content and install the "dlybs"

I don't know why, but it definitely doesn't work. Neither the Finder nor Path Finder are able to show the package contents for the PPC version Cinema R9.6 on my machine.

Right click on the app "CINEMA 4D" does not work? Right click on the app and you should see "Show Package Content". I never heard of such a thing that somebody was denied to see the package content. Can you see the package content of other applications?

Control clicking C4D 9.6UB does and 9.6PPC does not, on my machine.

It doesn't work. Take a lood to the images. They were taken from the same Mac:

I have C4D 10

9.5 wasn't UB, that's why you can't see the contents (you need xcode to make the executable a package, or something like that)

If you have 9.5, why don't you upgrade to 9.6?
It's free and it runs on PPC macs too.

Anyway, has anybody on a G5 rendered yet?

Thanks

9.6 is available as PPC and UB. These are two different apps. The PPC version cannot be opened as a package. Neither of them will run Vray for me.

that's what I mean, install Vray in the UB version....

in what way doesn't it not work (in the UB)?

See the first post in the thread, "can't get Vray to run" below.

Hi Diego,

The image UB.jpg has it right. Just select "Show Package Contents" from the menu.

How's the family?

Hi Jorge,

Long time no seen!

I tried it but did not work. Did you install Vray succesfully on you Mac?

Family is doing great. Thanks

Hi Diego,

I installed it succesfully on my G5 (waiting for my new octo to arrive).

I see in the image you posted that "Show Package Contents" appears on the menu when you right click "CINEMA 4D app". So, you select that and what happens?

Hope you sort that out.
