Mother of Pearl?

Anyone have any idea how I might go about creating a Mother of Pearl texture in VRay? I don't have the first clue where to start.....

it doesn't convert well, but is at least a nice start.

Ah, cheers mate. I remember that knocking about a while back. I'll have a dig and see if I can convert it to something useable. Thanks again.

This maybe overly complex and not entirely accurate,
but it wouldn't be difficult to re-work it for your requirements.

It has an overlaying material to mix things up,
be sure to use them in the correct order.

I apply with Cubic mapping, scale as needed.
