Hi,
I just went to pre-command Leopard and i have a question : Is it in the way to release a Vray for MacOs 10.5 in 64bits?

It looks like Apple has squashed interest in 64bit support, at least for some time. See this thread: http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=545936&highlight=leopard and the link in post #4.
I doubt there will be a 64bit C4D or VrayForC4d in the near future. But, I have not given up hope.

You are saying that Leopard is 64bit and C4D + Vray should run 64bit on it. I am confused and its threads like this and above that are keeping me confused: http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=47&t=551384.
Anyway, 10.5 here I come.

No, Apple has just decided not to support Carbon Apps in 64 bit. If the application is Cocoa from ground up, then yes it can be 64 bit in Leopard. Problem is that Cinema 4d, like a lot of cross-platform apps, use older Carbon system calls, etc. So dropping 64 bit support for Carbon apps means that the programmers either have to rewrite their apps, or Apple has to add Carbon support as well. Though Apple seems to want to phase out older Carbon programs. Though this doesn't mean that Carbon apps/32bit apps won't run in Leopard, they will work just fine, but they still will be 32 bit apps.

sadly apple failed to give 64 bit support.
we cannot change this, as soon apple delivers a true 64bit enviroment for carbon we can make a 64 bit vray for osx.
at the moment we only have 64 bit for windows soon, but the windows user are much more limited than the osx users at the moment as winxp can only handle 2gb per application. osx can have 4gb, that makes a big difference.
we still hope apple will see it s error to only give us 64bit for cacao and not for carbon....(90% of all pro apps are carbon)
cheers
