very very nice tong:-)
great present for all, and great idea
best greetings
stefan
thank you guys
ps: i have small wish ;-) so .IES files can be read from lib4d file directly, it seems it will have relative path and IES light now understand only absolute one :( so there will be only one lib4d file with all data in it.

Hi thanks a lot!
Quick question: I have to put really high values in the multipler slot (10.000) and still canat get the intensity I want...Im using cm units.
What can I do to fix this?
thanks
the power of IES light depends of manufacture data in it and units of the room if you have room 200 m in height light will be invisible, if 200 cm you will see the light.
don`t afraid to multiplier in 1000, why not?

I multiplied as much as I could (10.000 is max)- tried few different lights and still the light is almost invisible. Ceiling is 350cm high...
So I have to find stronger ies light?
send me scene, only walls and lights

any news on the power of the IES.
i, too, have troubele to get them lit at all. (look very weak, if i see any lighting at all)
and i push up the multiplier to 10.000.000 which is the max (not 10.000), but still there is nothing visible. (you see a small, soft glow in the IES preview, but thatīs it)
ah ok
i will remake it on this week

i have found the source of the problem.
it was a path issue. i copied the extracted archive to the ..../objects folder and renamed it. but the number was left to 01 instead of 1 (hq_ies_vol_01 instead of hq_ies_vol_1) so no ies files could be found...
i wounder where that soft glow came from...
maybe it would be a good idea to rename the 7z archive where the ies files are to the name in the library path, so that if users copy this folder to the .../objects path no renaming is necessary.

and it still looks like those values have to be set very high, to get good results. maybe the manufactors normally build their values based on meters instead of cm ? i donīt know if this can be changed, but it limits a bit to get maximum brightness out of the .ies
i will adjust lightning of it for better look, so it will not be like it was manufactures, but rather how it looks for viz.

thanks Tong, yoiu are always a great help !
I have Problems too, with the hq_ies:
as big k said, i changed the name of the folder under c://....objects manualy to hq_ies_vol_1
as you see in the attached screenshot, the light from the preset renders just as a omni light, and not as a ies light.
in the prview, i see the ies "light shape", but only if i raise the power to 1000 lumen., but it doesnt matter if you have 1000 odr 10000 lumen, it renders just the omnilight.

if you want to original lumen leave the lumen seting at 0!
100 liumen is VERY low by the4 way if you want to overide the photometric intensity. see wikipedia or google for usual lumen values.
for ies also make sure the direction is rotated right, the blue axis(zaxis) is the main direction of the ies. if they are rotated wrong you get often very different look than in hte preview. also not the appearance of an ies much depends on the distance to an object or the wall.
the ies definitly works, i use it a lot myself.
i am not sure it can work from a lib though, a fix link is better to have on disk.
cheers
stefan
