OSX install issues. (Solved)

Hey guys:

I downloaded/installed as directed-

When I enabled the vray bridge under post effects, I got an error saying:

"unable to locate file /MAXON/CINEMA 4D R10/resource/strings_us/description/vpvraybridge.str"

So I found the .str and moved it there manually...?!

Then I get the next error msg:

"unable to locate file /MAXON/CINEMA 4D R10/resource/res/description/vpvraybridge.res"

So I moved it there manually too, but it's now saying "Error reading it, Line 10..."

Does the install work properly, with of the files ending up in the correct places, etc?

Probably you don't have the VrayBridge.key in the right place.
You have to put it in the same folder as the Cinema 4D.app file.

No, the key is in the right place, unfortunately.

check my post above this one... I have the same problem.
Let's keep this issue in one thread.

I moved the files (to test it) as well. It seems that if we move all the files from the plugin folder to the appropriate places it will work. But I don't recommend it....

Yeah, it sounds like I'm having exactly the same problem you are having, so I'm not nuts... exactly.

...And I have the same machine spec as yours 10.4/g5 dual 1.8...

EDIT: It's a dual 2.0, not a 1.8.

Most worrisome, is that even though I replace a couple files, it kicked out the error msg. "Error reading resource file '/Applications/MAXON/CINEMA C4D R10/resource/res/description/vpvraybridge.res' Line 10"

we have all forgotten to unzip the "VrayBridge.zip" file (it is NOT the same as the "VrayBridgeOSX_1.0.zip")

the VrayBridge.zip contains the KEY file but the "VrayBridgeOSX_1.0.zip" contains the "VrayBridge" folder... it's easy to get confused.

Just copy the "VrayBridge.key" file in the C4D directory, NOT inside the package...

It can't be that for me, I did that... twice. Uninstalled, then reinstalled.

No difference. Does yours work now?

I found something...

I opened my console window, and got the error msg:

Wrong vrayBridge.key - Vray not loaded

BUT the serial number listed is not the same as my first 11 digits from my c4d serial number by one digit (the 4th one). Could that be the cause of my problems?

so it seems to be an issue with the keyfile in this case.

I have here a MacBook (coreduo, 2 Gb) with C4D10.1 and a MacPro8core with C4D10.1 and on both machines installation worked and they are rendering nicely.

I'm impressed of the speed and quality.

Definately the cause for your problem colorthief is the wrong .key file.
just wmail Stefan and hw will fix it.
