the walls? im sure theres a map on it with a wide range of uv.
or you mean something else :)

I agree. I think the UV for the top part of the walls is completely wrong. What texture mapping have you used? I think you are using spherical or cylindrical mapping, may be use cubic or UVW.

I take it the glass in the windows has no refraction ior as the light from the window seems to be parallel.

Back to the question about texture mapping, what are you using for the wood beams as I think that is heavily stretched aswell.

What about shadows? The beams and chairs don't seem to be emmitting any.

Only IMO, but I think you may have constructed this scene in wrong workflow., You should adjust light levels with blank textures and then add textures when you are happy. You can then tweak the light if particular textures cause issues. Most of the time gi saturation/contrast and color mapping can solve most of these issues.

exactly, you need to fix the spherical. vray mats when you put them on an object you need to make it uv mapping or cubic so you

Why does a VRay material default to Spherical mapping? I hardly ever use this method. Is there any way of changing this default to something more useful like UVW or cubic?

thanks, for your advices ... the problem was spherical mapping. i am very beginner in Vray so be mercifull :)

Yes. Apply a material to an object, change its projection to UVW, then, in the Attributes Manager, select "Edit>Set as Default".

UVW will be your new default projection for future textures applied.

Ah! Thanks Fluffy. I didn't know you could do that. I'm such an amateur....
