some times if i delete duplicate materials
used materials are deleted and replaced by others...
it was just a white material
and an exact copy with a texture in the diffuse channel
the white was deleted and replaced by the one w the texure.
the duplicate recognition does not seem to work 100%
same true for AR materials ;(
send feedback to MAXON please[COLOR="Silver"]

sorry but this is REALLY annoying !
if you copy paste an object w 20-30 materials and you end up with all duplicated materials and you have to manually delete them every time you copy/paste... that is *%&# !!!
if this is really maxons problem (i am not so sure for this to be true) ...
>>> please integrate a delete duplicate materials in the vrayforc4d plugin menu !! <<<
i should be possible to generate a checksum for every material iterating through all settings / textures
and then recognize, replace & delete the duplicates.
this and the xref problems make vrayforc4d a bad tool for large & complex projects !
i don`t have xref problems, can you send me file with problem?

I also never have this problem,
i use this often and have only large and complex scenes.
are you sure you c4d install isnt corrupt, or some other plugin that might interfere?
The duplicate material delete is no vray part. It purely uses the native c4d function
cheers

the duplicate material delete function has never worked that well in c4d (this is not a vray issue)...
but I'm happy with the update in R11.5 where you can [command+drag] materials on top of each other to "combine them", instead of the older workflow of "select texture tag/ objects", and then dropping a different material into the material slot in the properties menu..
