Thanks! Maybe with this SSS will finally work for me. ;)

I have some problems using this shader with "high" polygon counting (10.000+) objects. I got those black triangles. Any idea?

is the sss used in the model the 1st or 2nd ?
also try this function>untrangulate. maybe it will work.
other than that i don't know =( didn't face this problem.
the moose have very tiny triangles too but the 2nd is good.

Yes, I also encountered that problem on one of my characters.
I'm still looking into it, but it's obviously a bug.

This looks very much like the problem I've encountered with 3ds models that are triangulated at curved edges with a reflective or luminent material, and shows up whether AR or VRay is used. Usually Untriangulate helps, some come in with no Phong tag, which needs to be fixed, and a couple have had no UVW mapping, necessitating a quick trip into BodyPaint. The meshes look good, the render engines just like quads better.

c4d quad will be supported soon..

It must just be chair arms that must be quad, and mooses (?) are exempt from the rule. Although the quilted look is quite nice.
Another fix I've seen used: put the object into a HN set at 1 SD, carefully considering the existing poly count and memory available.

Thanks for the file...
I was hoping to see a native vraymaterial sss, but it is cinema's
native sss shader.
I've been trying long ome to achieve a look like that by using
a vray material with fog/ sss, but I just can't get it right.
How can I achieve this?
Any pointers are appreciated
...yes I did read the other sss thread ;-) !

I have tried to do that but with the SSS from Vray, not from Cinema (as in these examples). I think Vray's SSS doesn't work fine.

very sss works very good, but it is y physical correct approach and needs cpu power.
cheers
