In buying vray/C4D do we also have a licence for using vray with other 3D apps?
I may get Max in order to be able to translate models, and wonder if I could have vray work with it.

I never got an answer to this, still wondering.
no. You must understand one thing, VrayForC4d it`s only vray core system (that was bougth by Llab group) and bridge for Cinema4D, so why you think that it have something with 3dMax Vray for example?
offtop
ps: i like your books  you still do snowboarding?

I think that a license to the vray engine might or should apply to the vray engine for any app, like Maxwell or Fry, for example. Anyway, that's the question.
And thank you about the books, but those are by my father, though some of them have my work in them. I do still snowboard. Late last season I bought my son a whole new setup, but he's grown so much the boots (never used yet) don't fit. I have to give him mine, and now go buy new ones for myself. I will just have to suffer with an excuse to get myself new boots. But I haven't been boarding yet this season. I had hoped for today, actually, but too much to do.

it could be, if the VrayC4D is product of Chaos Group, which is not.
and Vray for Rhino too, it`s asgvis group release, for example.
I had hoped for today, actually, but too much to do. Never replace family with work  it`s too short life i think  yesterday he was 5 years old, and today he 20 years old and you go to buy new boots ;-) and his name ends with IV ;-) we have to short time here

I hope this gets seen, as I'm tagging onto an old thread.
I have a client who may want me for a big project. They are looking for my full time for four months plus three subs to help with the rendering. If it comes through it'll be a good gig, though I will have to turn down anything new offered in that four months.
Of the three people I'm looking at as the subs, one already uses C4D and may or may not have vray. The other two are Max-based (and have vray for Max). I'm wondering what it would cost for me to get one, two or three additional licenses of vray for them to use (with C4D, which I would also have to buy new licenses of)? It would be less expensive to buy additional ones under my first one than buy new ones?
In the end it would be me doing the rendering, but having C4D and vray would help the subs do scene setup for me. I should know this week on the project.
