Would u recommend me to put HDRI? or why is the "arc" on the front of the windows?
also, any tips for improving the trees which are quite massy now.

thanx for any help.

bad geometry i think, happened with me when exporting scenes from max to 3ds. try remaking the glass and it will work fine

I don`t think the geometry is the problem here, as I changed glass material for the windows and got different results. the windows are built fine,

any other suggestions?

did you export the model from CAD and did you untriangulated the mesh?

thats what sometimes happens to me. then i go back, i do not untriangulate the "glas mesh.

thanks for replying

but I still dont think it is the problem in my case.
Look at this cel render sample: No Triangles ....

and also other test I did with other Glass material this time, and it seems better but still have problems with the real reflections like from old AR HDRI.

Looks like a phong problem, along with too much IOR.

pilgonico

IOR? what is it?

IOR = Index Of Refraction :)

You set this in material, in Refraction Layer. Default value is Ior=1,6.
Here are couple of example values:

Glass, Flint, 29% lead 1.569
Glass, Flint, 55% lead 1.669
Glass, Flint, 71% lead 1.805
Glass, Fused Silica 1.459
Plastic 1.460 - 1.55
Plexiglas 1.488
Beer 1.345
Honey, 21% water content 1.484
Ice 1.309
Milk 1.35
Oil, Clove 1.535
Oil, Safflower 1.466
Oil of Wintergreen 1.536
Rum, White 1.361
Shampoo 1.362
Water (20° C) 1.33283
Water (0° C) 1.33346
Vodka 1.363

Nice !

Well, It is much better indeed...
though, I think the glass at the top is really complete, but then in the front it somewhat too...solid...less opac...what do you think? maybe it is cuz the sun angle?

lol not really >.< but thanks.
ok, i saw what you mean. it will be obovious when you put glass material..
i tried to fix it in a way or another but i didn't find a solution, i think you need to rebuild the glass in c4d. =) and i will help you if you want, simple make some planes stretch them your done =D at least in the front window.
sorry thats the only choice i found.

Hi pilgonico, i check your file, and i notice some things

1) You have to model in real world dimensions, your house is like 9 times smaller than real life, so you have to scale it to real dimensions.

2) I guess you model with CAD and then export to cinema, this makes objects accordind to the material used in the CAD program and grouping them in one poligonal object (im using ArchiCAD, and this is the way it exports to cinema), sometimes i had problems with glass with this way of exporting, so i recomend you to exports your windows individually to get better results.

3) I remodel the front windows (not all the windows), and duplicate the building and put it in front to generate something to reflect, and i use a glass material that i get from the material repository of this forum. I change a bit the camera, but it was just for testing. I dont know if the result is the one you want to achieve, if so, i'll post the file.

I hope this is helpful for you.
